School Readiness Program
At Cherry Bridge Station all children are provided with a daily curriculum that is based around the Early Years Learning Framework as well as their individual and group interests. The curriculum constantly evolves through acknowledging each child’s input into the daily activities and experiences. Family and educator input is also used to create and develop our projects.
Our School Readiness Program is developed at each centre in consultation with local schools, and aims to prepare children for kindergarten through the daily activities. These experiences are specifically structured to support the development of each child’s confidence and independence skills. Children are able to reach their full potential and become active learners through playing in an engaged and fun environment. Our centres and educators also support parents in preparation for the school process, by providing at-home activities and information evenings for families.
During their time at the centre children can make choices in regards to their own learning, through connecting with people, places, technologies; and also many natural and processed materials. Children also use SMART Boards and iPads as part of the School Readiness Program. We acknowledge that this technology is prevalent in primary school classrooms, and the children are able to familiarise themselves with these tools well in advance.
