The Snuggly Steamers
The babies in this room are aged from 6 weeks to 12 months. There are lots of individual routines for feeding, sleeping and playing. We ask parents to write their routines in the daily book provided and at the end of the day they can read about their baby’s eating, sleeping and playing for the day.
The Little Steamers
The older babies from 12 months to 24 months have plenty of group routines, usually having their meals, snacks and sleeps at about the same time. Educators continually nurture the children and assist in their growth and development. There is so much to see and do each day.
The Barrelling Boilers
The toddlers in this room are 2-3 years of age, and we are always busy. You will notice our teachers are very engaged with us – lots of talking and talking and talking – our language development is skyrocketing right now. You will notice we go to the bathroom and lunch in small groups and we really like to help our teacher. We are great at anything that involves water!
The Clever Conductors
The children are aged 3-5 in this room and we are enjoying more self-help skills and learning to socialise and interact with our friends. It is important for us to start learning to co-operate with others, share more often, make and follow very simple rules for our room and to take care of our friends.
The 4-5 year olds in this room are learning the preschool program. We will be preparing for kindergarten and the skills we learn will help us to feel more confident and settled for our first day at primary school.
Outdoor Play Area
At Cherry Bridge Station Lane Cove we have a state of the art outdoor play area catering for children of all ages and interests incorporating water play features, sandpits and shade sails. Our carefully placed sails allow the play areas to be used in any kind of weather, so children can enjoy the importance of playtime daily.
Nominated Supervisor Profile
I have devoted a number of years to the childcare industry, which have led me to gain extensive experience working with children in different settings, be it in the classroom or at the summer camp. I belong to a family of educators who firmly believe that ‘a child miseducated is a child lost.’ So, when I switched careers from psychology to early childhood, it felt like it was always meant to be, like I had come back home. The thrill continues as I join the Cherry Bridge Station team this year and I look forward to developing strong partnerships with the families and the local community. It is my belief that the experiences of a child’s formative years shape his/her perception of the world as he/she grows up. I am humbled and excited to be a part of your child’s very special journey.
